Christine Valy moved to accept, John Post seconded.Motion carried unanimously.
TBBA Shirts for sale
Men’s and Women’s tee shirts are available for $20. Polos are available for $20. See Kenny Gill for purchase.
TBBA Stickers for Sale: $5 each
Apiary Field day, Members and NON-MEMBERS invited to attend
Saturday @ 9:30 am. Upper Tampa Park, 8001 Double Branch Road, Tampa, FL.
Wear close toed shoes, light colored loose fitting pants, and long sleeve shirts. TBBA provides veils and lunch following.
Membership
Attendees are encouraged to join TBBA. Annual membership fees are $20, $10 in Septembr. See Rein Verbeek for sign up.
-Total number of attendees of August meeting was 57
Treasurer’s report
Rein Verbeek presented 14 August 2025 report. Mike Kupp moved to accept, Lynn Zienkno and Kyle Foster seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
TBBA Library
Members are encouraged to borrow books, see Elise Valdes for your rentals
Community/Educational opportunities
Palm River Panthers presenter needed for Great American Teach In on 11/20/25 – contact tbba secretary for contact info
Fall Honey Booth at Hillsborough County Fair from 10/28-11/9 – Sign Ups will start on July 1st
Salvation Army Trunk or Treat, 10/28/25 6pm-9pm-contact tbba secretary for contact info.
Club Honey Tasting Competition for FSBA announced for October Meeting.
Build a Hive Day was announced with a TBD date in early 2026.
Tips and Tricks Shared
-If ever presenting at a community or educational function, always bring honey to sell. Community members always want a way to support you.
-Club has an observation hive to be used if doing presentations on behalf of TBBA.

Rein Verbeek presented 12June2025 report. Larry moved to accept, Lynn Zienkno seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Bee License plates
Approved June 2nd, 2025 by State of Florida a total of 3010 were purchased.
Approx 3-4 months for vouchers to be filled by the counties. Once vouchers filled then they will be available for purchase
Funds from the sales will be disbursed to clubs and research grants
Bee Seminar for new beekeepers Presented by TBBA
7 March 2026 One Day New Beekeepers at Hillsborough County Fairgrounds
Volunteer Sign ups will start in August 2025

-Check your county’s website for Mosquito control. If you want to cover your hives, cardboard was suggested to go over the top and to create a shield of your entrance. It was not suggested to enclose the all in plastic.
-If interested in owning an observation hive, Angela Rodríguez Díaz makes them, contact her to order
-If ever presenting at a community or educational function, always bring honey to sell. Community members always want a way to support you.
